The job/internship

You will function as a Financial Reporting/Compliance Manager and therefore handle solvency and reporting executive tasks. You will be resposible for calculating, analysing and monitoring the solvency position of two insurance entities registered in Malta. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Prepare specific forms and documents required by the Insurance Business Act (Solvency II). These reports are submitted to the Malta Financial Services Authority and Central Bank of Malta on a quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Handle all the reporting tasks outlined in the Insurance Distribution Act.
  • You'll be responsible for organising and conducting stress tests. These tests are part of the "Own Risk and Solvency Assessment Report." Your job includes updating this report with the necessary explanations and details.

Your qualifications

💭 You speak and write fluent English (any other European language is considered a plus), since you are expected to have the ability to work in a team and have excellent interpersonal skils.

🎓 Solid understanding of accounting concepts (preferably in the initial stages of the ACCA course or an equivalent accounting qualification)

  • Experience in insurance or an interest in insurance and its regulation with reference to Pillar 1 and Pillar 3 of the Solvency II regulation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel).

💻 Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
