Work abroad in your gap year
Why stay at home and work in the local supermarket when you could spend your gap year working in Greece or Malta, or exploring life in Spain? We have real jobs abroad with full-time hours, a stable income, and often relocation help. Many of our roles that do not require a certain educational level or work experience are with international companies that deliver language based service on behalf of brands like Netflix, Google Ads, and Microsoft.

If you would like to work abroad, we recommend that you look at the opportunities on this page. You can also contact any of our recruiters to learn more about your job opportunities abroad.
We can help you find exciting jobs abroad in many different countries. We have a lot of popular destinations and jobs within the EU because the working conditions and salaries here are similar to what you are used to. We always have several job opportunities in Greece, Bulgaria, Spain, Malta, Cyprus, and Portugal. Furthermore, we also have clients in Asia and outside of the EU, if you want to explore beyond Europe. For more information, read more about our destinations.
The duration of your job abroad depends on your own wishes, the company you will work for, and the type of job. In order for you to get a better experience (and stand out on your CV) we recommend at least 6 months of work adventure abroad.
Get in touch with one of our recruiters. We’re ready to answer any questions you may have.
No, you do not need a work permit to work in another EU country, if you are an EU/EEA citizen. But if you are staying for longer than three months you will need to apply for an EU card that allows you to live in EU countries. You might need to register with local authorities and meet specific requirements for certain regulated professions. You can read more about working in the EU on the European Commission’s employment section and Your Europe portal.
Due to the international colleagues, your training sessions will often be in English, but your daily work will always be in your native language. If you’re interested in English speaking jobs, we have a few higher positions available.
We recommend learning at least some basic phrases. You can use language apps like Duolingo, sign up for language classes (often provided by the companies we work with), and also visit EF Language Schools.
You can move abroad by yourself, with a friend or as a couple. There are pros and cons to all of the situations. If you consider moving abroad with any kind of friend it can be a really good idea to sit down and talk through practical and everyday stuff.
Apart from practical arrangements, life is fun when you can share your new core memories with other people. Moving with a friend can cause you to interact less with new people compared to if you move abroad by yourself. But if this is a good or a bad thing entirely depends on your personal goals and wishes as well as your personality.
You can always apply for a job abroad and we have demands for new employees in many different countries all year round. Sometimes we can get you a job within a few weeks, but if your circumstances do not enable you to move within the next months, it’s harder to predict which offers will be available. But we guarantee that we can help you find good options!
Our job offers are constantly changing depending on demand and season. However, they are typically in warmer European countries where you can experience a different culture and, of course, enjoy the sun!
Absolutely yes, you can have an amazing gap year while you work and live abroad. It’s a very popular way of travelling while earning money- getting the best of both worlds.
You can read a lot more about working abroad during your gap year or about how to find a gap year job abroad.
