Thuy is one of our newest recruiters, born and raised in Norway with Vietnamese roots. She has just joined Job Squad and is excited to grow into the role. Having once gone through a similar recruitment process herself, she knows how important it is to feel supported when moving abroad, and now she wants to provide that same reassurance to others.

Her own adventures abroad started with a backpacking trip in 2020 that lasted over three months. Exploring new cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds gave her the confidence to take bigger steps, like moving to Madrid for studies in 2022 and later to Portugal for work in 2024. Each of these experiences taught her something new about herself and shaped her passion for helping others discover life abroad.

For Thuy, the best part of moving to a new place is the perspective it gives you. Meeting new people, experiencing a culture firsthand, and stepping outside of what you already know opens your mind in a way nothing else can.

Outside of recruitment, she is also a fitness instructor. Staying active and helping others feel their best is something she loves, whether it is in the gym, outdoors, or simply spending time with friends and family.

Her advice for anyone moving abroad is to stay open-minded and embrace the differences. Life won’t feel like home at first, and that’s exactly the point — it’s what makes the experience so valuable.
