International Recruiter
Olivia is one of our international recruiters from Norway. She was born and raised there, but is also half Greek. She had a desire to explore her roots and try something new, which led her to move to Greece for what was meant to be a gap year, but ended up staying much longer than planned.
Norway still feels like home for her. Olivia’s plan is to return and have her base in Oslo, while travelling the world whenever she can. But she has no regrets of moving to Greece. Living abroad has given her unforgettable memories and introduced her to incredible people. It’s an experience she wouldn’t trade for anything.
When she’s not helping others take the leap abroad, Olivia enjoys dancing, painting, and doing nails (she’s a nail artist in her spare time). She also plays the piano, listens to music, and loves long walks. Although she has a real passion for travel and adventure, she equally enjoys slowing things down with a good book or a cosy evening in. Her best book recommendation is “Making Life Easy” by Christiane Northrup, a thoughtful read that brings together physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.
Olivia’s advice for anyone thinking of living and working abroad is to start building your support system early. Moving to a new country is exciting, but it can also feel isolating if you don’t make an effort to connect. Friendships don’t just happen, you have to be proactive. Join local communities, say yes to invitations, and don’t be afraid to reach out. Even having just one or two people to lean on makes a huge difference.
And remember: it’s completely normal to feel out of place at first. That discomfort doesn’t mean you’ve made the wrong decision. Adjusting to a new country, culture, and lifestyle takes time. Be patient, it gets easier and before you know it, you’ll feel at home.
