Michelle is our German Junior SEO Copywriter, who is originally from Austria, but she now lives in Stavanger, Norway. She has also lived in the Canary Islands and spent time in various other places across Europe, which means she has a great deal of personal experience with moving abroad and building a life in another country.

Her adventure began with the goal of travelling as a digital nomad and her new life started in Italy. After that, she spent the winter months soaking up the sun in Gran Canaria and Tenerife. While the weather was wonderful, the north, where her sister also lives, began calling her name. After a few months in Oslo, Michelle eventually settled on Norway’s west coast and immediately felt at home in Stavanger.

Writing isn’t just Michelle’s job, it’s her greatest passion. She has a gift for telling compelling stories and creating a sense of connection through her words. It’s one of the reasons she left her full-time job in 2022 to become a freelance copywriter. But other things has also kept her busy: In 2023 she renovated a 500-year-old villa in Spain and transformed it into a co-living space for digital nomads.

Michelle is always curious to discover new places. She enjoys the feeling of experiencing something for the first time, but even more so, she loves that magical moment when a new place truly starts to feel like home, just as Norway did for her. Her advice for anyone thinking about living and working abroad is to be patient. Finding a place to live or building new friendships takes time, but if you give yourself that time and stay open, it will happen. And when it does, you’ll be glad you stuck with it.
