Cæcilie is one of our Danish recruiters and today she lives in Barcelona. She joined Job Squad in August 2025 and has been helping people take their first steps abroad ever since. What she enjoys most about her work is guiding others towards new opportunities and supporting those who are not sure where or how to begin.

Her own story shows why she connects so strongly with this. Growing up in Denmark, she was fascinated by Spanish culture and language, and she began learning it as a teenager. After visiting Barcelona, she knew she wanted to try living there. In the summer of 2024 she and her best friend moved to the city and worked as Content Moderators for TikTok. Those six months turned out to be some of the best of her life, giving her independence, confidence, and memories she still treasures. A year later she returned to Barcelona, this time to start her journey as a recruiter with Job Squad.

For Cæcilie, the best part of moving abroad is discovering a new culture and a new language while also discovering yourself. Leaving safe surroundings and familiar routines has helped her grow and see life from a new perspective.

Outside of work she has plenty of passions. Dancing has been a big part of her life since she was ten years old, and she has even competed in hip hop competitions. She also enjoys shopping, especially thrifting and she is always on the hunt for the best iced coffee in Barcelona. And when she can, she loves spending time with her family.

Her advice for anyone planning a move abroad is to take things day by day. There is no need to have everything figured out right away.
