Sven Evens is our Belgian force in the Dutch recruitment team. For a year he’s living his best life in Portugal. Five years ago, Sven started his recruiter story with a temp agency from Belgium. The best part about being a recruiter for him is meeting new people and learning their stories. Next to this, he likes the challenge of reaching targets that are set out for him.

By the time he was 9, Sven had already lived on 3 different continents. The first he lived abroad as an adult was in Bulgaria. Sven loved learning everything about a new culture and adapting to a new language. He also loved the cheap living in Bulgaria.

The fact that everything is new when you move abroad makes Sven very excited. He doesn’t see that as a problem, but as an adventure. When he’s not making sure that you find the perfect job abroad, Sven is being active. He’s very into fitness and martial arts, but he also likes reading and hiking in nature.

His biggest tip for people that make the move abroad: learn the local language as fast as you can. This opens up many unexpected opportunities and it helps you to adapt to life in your new environment quicker.
