Michael Greece

International Recruiter

Michael is originally from Germany, but he lives in Athens, Greece. For years, Michael dreamed of living by the sea. And now, he’s made it happen. Most mornings, he wakes up to the gentle murmur of the waves just outside. He’s building a new life in the Mediterranean charm of the Athenian neighbourhood Piraeus.

But it wasn’t just about the sunshine and sea views , although those are definitely a bonus. Michael also wanted to dive into a completely new culture and experience daily life from a different perspective. He firmly believes that you get to know yourself on a deeper level when you’re far from the comforts of home. Moving abroad is about rebuilding parts of your life and stepping outside your comfort zone. And in his view, that’s exactly where the growth happens.

His favourite part of being a recruiter is helping others make the move abroad too, something he knows from personal experience can be truly life-changing. His advice for anyone thinking about moving and working abroad is to sort things out at home before you leave. If you’re trying to escape your problems, they’ll catch up with you sooner or later and that can make settling into a new life much harder.

Moving abroad isn’t a solution to what’s not working. It’s a fresh chapter. So don’t carry old baggage with you, deal with what needs attention before starting your next adventure.
