Yvette van Riel Greece

International Recruiter

Yvette is originally from a small town near Hague in the Netherlands, but she has been living in Athens, Greece, for more than four years. She is excited about her job, because it’s a unique way to help people from all over the world kick off their careers abroad.

Yvette’s first experience living abroad was during her studies, where she decided to do an internship in Malta. She worked for an English language school in the leisure department and immediately fell in love with the Mediterranean culture and lifestyle.

Moving to a new place is about discovering the local culture, finding hidden gems, and meeting new people. When she is off work she finds great joy in exploring, whether it’s travelling, trying new beaches, or finding the best coffee spots around Athens.

Yvette is eager about learning from every experience and person she meets, whether the experience is positive or negative. Her advice to anyone moving abroad is to remember that no matter what challenges you encounter, you’re not the only one, and you’re not alone in it. Reach out, ask for help, and most people will be happy to share their stories and offer advice. Moving abroad can be tough, but with the right support, it’s a journey you shouldn’t miss out on.
